Science has always sparked my curiosity. Early on, I gravitated toward fields that allow me not only to explore the underlying mechanisms of nature but also to have a tangible impact through scientific research. Sharing this curiosity and knowledge with others is also a great source of motivation for me.
I moved to the Faculty of Sciences of Bizerte to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Life and Earth Sciences, followed by a Master’s in Organism, Population, and Environmental Biology. During this time, I discovered how toxicology works, gained insights into ecosystems, and learned about biotic and abiotic interactions. I also acquired skills in bioinformatics, expanding my analytical approach.
I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in collaboration with the Faculty of Sciences of Bizerte (Tunisia, University of Carthage) and the University of Huelva in Spain. My thesis focuses on environmental studies, toxicology, metabolomics disruption, oxidative stress, and the interactions between organisms and contaminants in aquatic ecosystems.
I have developed expertise in freshwater mussel sampling and sample preparation techniques, such as desiccation and grinding. My research also involves the analysis of oxidative stress biomarkers. Recently, I have been learning new technologies in gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (UPLC-ESI-QTOF).

Resultados destacables
A proper intake of selenium effectively counters the alterations caused by BPA and nanoparticles, alleviates oxidative stress, and restores metabolite levels.
Vocación
While I have always been drawn to scientific disciplines, I truly discovered my vocation in environmental toxicology when I began my work on analyzing the impacts of contaminants on aquatic ecosystems. The potential of combining advanced analytical techniques with environmental research to address pressing ecological issues has solidified my commitment to this field.
Deseo científico
I am driven by a desire to advance our understanding of environmental toxicology through the application of cutting-edge analytical techniques. My goal is to unravel the molecular impacts of contaminants on aquatic ecosystems and to develop more effective strategies for environmental protection.
