Sobre mí

Profesora Titular de Universidad del Departamento de Traducción e Interpretación, Doctora en Filología por la Universidad de Sevilla (2004). Directora del Grupo de Investigación HUM-947 e investigadora principal de un proyecto I+D, así como coordinadora de varios proyectos de innovación docente.

Entre sus líneas de investigación actuales están la investigación en torno a la terminología y la traducción especializada (sector agroalimentario), en el par de lenguas alemán-español. En este sentido, ostenta la presidencia, junto a la Dra. Álvarez Jurado, de las Jornadas Ciencia y Traducción, celebradas anualmente en la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, que en este año 2016 se han constituido como I Congreso Internacional Ciencia y Traducción, Puentes interdisciplinares y transmisión del conocimiento científico.

En lo concerniente a la formación, es co-directora del Título de Experto “Traducción en Contextos Especializados: Ciencias de la Salud y Agroalimentación”, impartido en su primera edición en el curso 2015-2016.

Associate Professor of the Department of Translation and Interpretation, Doctor in Philology by the University of Seville (2004). Director of the Research Group HUM-947 and lead researcher of an R&D project and coordinator of several teaching innovation projects.

Her current research work focuses on terminology and specialized translation (agrifood area) in two translation languages, German–Spanish. In this sense, together with Dr. Alvarez Jurado, she holds the presidency of the Annual Meeting on Science and Translation, held annually at the Faculty of Arts, which has become the “First International Conference on Science and Translation: Interdisciplinary bridges and the transmission of scientific knowledge ” this year 2016.

With regard to academic training, she is co-director of the University Expert degree in «Translation in Specialized Contexts: Agrifood and Health Sciences», the first edition of which has been held in the 2015-2016 course.

Vocación

La traducción es el puente interdisciplinar que permite conectar dos textos, y que favorece la transmisión del conocimiento científico. Los avances científicos necesitan, pues, de traductores para su difusión.
Impartir clase en el Campus Agroalimentario de Rabanales me permitió conocer con mayor profundidad lo que otros grupos de investigación, de las denominadas “ciencias”, producían. Ello me brindó la oportunidad de concentrar los esfuerzos en la traducción especializada, acorde con el tejido empresarial y socio-económico de la provincia de Córdoba, y de este modo, mi actividad investigadora se centra ahora en la traducción científica, especialmente la relacionada con el sector agroalimentario y el biosanitario.

Translation is the interdisciplinary bridge that attempts to connect two texts, thus allowing the correct transmission of scientific knowledge. Scientific advances badly need, therefore, the appropriate transmission carried out by the translators. Teaching in the Agri-food Campus of Rabanales, Córdoba, allowed me have a deeper understanding of what other research groups in the area of sciences were doing. This provided me with the opportunity to concentrate efforts in the specialized translation in agreement with the business community and socio-economic development of the province of Cordoba, and thus, my research activity is now focused on scientific translation, especially related to agrifood and biomedical sciences.
