Dr. Camacho obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cordoba in 1982 and is Full Professor in Physical Chemistry from the same University since 1997.
His initial research line was focused on different aspects related to fundamental and applied electrochemistry including electrode kinetics, development of new electroanalytical techniques, modification of electrodes with organic materials, and the study of phase transition on electrodes.
Since 1996, he started to be interested in the research of organic thin films, both at the air-water interface and in Langmuir-Blodgett films (LB). These studies have focused on the development of methods to create nanostructures, where the organization and molecular orientation can be controlled in order to analyze the influence of the architecture on the materials properties, e.g. sensors, electroluminescence or conductivity.
